Kaufman Appointed Chief of Staff

Henry J. Kaufman, IV, MD was recently appointed Chief of Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kaufman joined Lourdes’ medical staff in July

of 2005. He has served as Chief of Surgery and most recently as Vice-Chief of Staff from 2009-2010. As Chief, his duties include regular communication to the Board and CEO on behalf of the physicians, and serving as a member of the Board of Directors, the Performance Improvement Council, and all other medical staff committees. Dr. Kaufman will ensure medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations are being enforced by the hospital and physicians.

Dr. Kaufman is originally from Abbeville, LA and received his doctor of medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and his residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine – Chattanooga Unit in Chattanooga, Tennessee (2003) and his surgical oncology fellowship at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio (2005). Specializing in general surgery and surgical oncology, Dr. Kaufman currently treats patients from across the Acadiana region.
