Former patient, Susan Karam was honored at Lourdes Oncology Department by her family and friends with a bell dedication. Located in the outpatient infusion waiting room, the memorial bell is to be rung after each patient finishes chemotherapy treatment. Susan was an active volunteer for Camp Bluebird and Miles Perret Cancer Services. Four different times, she came face to face with cancer and defied the odds by beating it. Loved by many, she did not survive her fifth and final bout with the disease. Susan will be remembered as a spirited and willful patient with a big heart. Our thanks go out to her family for dedicating this bell in her memory.
