Your Impact in Acadiana

Your Giving Matters

Philanthropy is powerful, and your generosity can influence health and wellness in Acadiana. With the overwhelming support of our community, businesses and individual donors, Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation raises funds to support our community outreach programs.

We provide for the needs of those most in need in Acadiana and we could never do our work without the support of the community. Contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation are essential to the continuation of our mission. Every donation is a lifesaving gift that allows us to continue to fulfill the critical healthcare needs of our community.

Communities We Serve

Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation supports charitable healthcare services in Acadiana that extend our mission of stewardship and outreach to those most in need. Each day hundreds of lives are touched by experience in our community programs, which are listed below.

St. Bernadette Community Clinic

Doctor checking elderly man with stethoscopeEstablished in 1995 in collaboration with the Diocese of Lafayette, St. Bernadette Community Clinic provides free non-emergency medical care to the poor and homeless. Services coordinated through this clinic include acute and follow-up care, dental care, eye care referrals and more. St. Bernadette Clinic provides healthcare services to approximately 3,750 people annually (3,200 medical and 550 dental visits).

To continue to provide these outreach services, Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation must raise $1.5 million each year. All gifts help us reach this annual goal. View the special wish list for St. Bernadette Community Clinic on Amazon here.

Congregational Health Services

This collaboration is a unique outreach partnership with churches in Acadiana. Congregational Health Services strives to be effective in its efforts to fortify the community through unity and teamwork to meet a common healthcare goal: to impact and strengthen congregations and the communities they serve. This is done by assisting churches to identify unmet healthcare needs to decrease and prevent the effects of disease through education, prevention, early detection and referrals.

Children's Health Initiatives

Supporting Our Lady Lourdes Foundation helps families throughout Acadiana. Even the smallest comforts of home make the biggest impact when a child is admitted to the hospital. That’s the inspiration behind our the programs at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital: the Kathy Bobbs Healing Garden, a separate area for children to play safely outside, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room for out-of-town family and caregivers who need to be near their children.

Kathy Bobbs Healing Garden

Located on the first floor, this space will be designed from the ground up to enhance children’s wonder, inspiration and creativity. The garden bears the name of the late Kathy Bobbs, longtime chief executive officer, whose leadership and compassionate care impacted countless families throughout the region for nearly two decades.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Room

Simple fact: Patients do better when surrounded by the love and support of their family, friends and community. Still, not every family from the nine-parish Acadiana region we serve has the resources needed to stay in a hotel while their loved one receives the advanced, specialized care we provide—especially if the care requires a stay of weeks or months. The planned suite will offer a private room with a bath, a common area, a small kitchen area and a space to do laundry inside the hospital.

Child Life Specialists

Child Life Specialists are specially trained to provide emotional support for families of children admitted to the hospital because a child’s well-being is dependent on the support of family. They help promote coping through play, age-appropriate preparation, and education as well as self-expression activities. Check out our Child Life Specialists wish list on Amazon here.
